Institute of Neurodiversity United States
ION US
We are the United States chapter of the Institute of Neurodiversity (ION) — a global, neurodivergent-led movement for justice, dignity, and inclusion.
We exist to center the voices of neurodivergent individuals in conversations that shape education, work, policy, and community.
-
Purpose
To help neurodistinct individuals thrive, not just survive.
To create spaces — from classrooms to boardrooms — where difference is not only respected, but expected. -
Vision
A future where being neurodivergent is understood as a difference, not a deficit.
Where neuroinclusion is the standard.
A world whereno one is left out of the conversation about their own life. -
Mission
To transform how neurodivergent individuals are seen, supported, and included—by shifting systems, shaping policy, and elevating the voices of those most impacted.
What we do
We elevate stories, spark change, and work directly with:
Families and caregivers navigating broken systems
Neurodivergent self-advocates building community and voice
Educators, employers, and leaders ready to do better
We advocate for:
Neuroinclusive schools and workplaces
Access to mental health and diagnosis across communities
Policies that reflect the realities of neurodivergent life
What we believe
Neurodiversity is a natural part of human diversity.
Lived experience is essential to inform solutions.
No one should be left behind by the very systems meant to support them.
We are here to support you.
